Top Cons of Ice Baths!

Unfortunately, nothing is perfect and there are a few things that can go wrong if the bath isn’t taken correctly or if you have preexisting conditions.

Here are the potential problems that can happen with ice baths.

Non-Freezing Cold Injury

A nonfreezing cold injury is similar to frostbite, but it mostly occurs in humid environments between 32 and 59 degrees Fahrenheit. These can cause frostbite-like injuries, which can damage the extremities and the nervous system.

Use the right precautions and make sure your ice bath is made correctly to avoid injury. Follow whatever guide or manual comes with your ice bath tub if you purchase one. Research how cold it should be for your needs.

Insomnia If Too Late At Night

Unfortunately, the part that works well for other parts of the body does not work well for this part. The shock of cold water can fully wake people up and although shivering and warming yourself afterward can make you sleepy for some people, exposure to cold water is a sudden spike in heart rate. The piece of paper does not go back down.

This can cause insomnia and make it harder to sleep. If you have trouble sleeping, this could worsen your tiredness and irritability. If you have a problem sleeping, this could make it worse.

Weight and Fat Loss

When you drop your body temperature, your body reacts by shivering and other things to try to get your body back up to temperature.

This has led a lot of people to wonder: do ice baths burn fat? The short answer is yes. However, this is not the same as working out directly. Your body must burn many calories to keep you warm and doing this after a workout burns more calories than doing it before or after your workout.

If you don’t want to lose weight or if you’re anemic, it might be dangerous to get into an ice bath because it could cause burning calories.

Tachycardia or Cardiac Arrest

Those with weak hearts or a history of tachycardia should be careful about getting into ice baths. A sudden dip in temperature can cause your heart to beat faster, and if you have a weak heart it could be dangerous to your health.

Before you dive, talk to a doctor about your health. Although there are many benefits, your safety is the most important.

Wrap-Up

If you don’t like getting cold, or you’re sensitive to temperature changes: it’s a good idea not to take ice baths.

Unfortunately, the cold point has begun to get a little chill and is dropping your body temperature slightly. It’s not safe for everyone.
